I have been a professional pilot for over twenty years. One night, several years ago I believed that I had had a heart attack. I was rushed to the hospital and braced myself for the news.

The early news was not good. A doctor (who was not certified in aviation medicine) told me that I would never fly professionally again. This was devastating. I had never done anything but fly. I never wanted to do anything else. I felt helpless and alone.

When I told Dr. Gillmore what happened, he immediately reassured me. He told me that heart problems were not necessarily the show stoppers that they were twenty years ago. It was possible, that I would get my license back.

Dr. Gillmore gave me hope. He then worked with my cardiologist and Transport Canada to ensure that I could be re-licensed. That experience was a wakeup call for me. I've worked with Dr. Gillmore to make changes in my life to ensure that I will never go down that path again.

I am now flying again. I have my career back. I have my life back.
